Welcome to Eldee Eldee Station is the quintessential outback experience and is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the wide open spaces and enjoy the freedom of being outdoors. When you stay on Eldee Station you will be staying on an authentic sheep and cattle station with the Schmidt family who have been operating Eldee Station for over 80 years. Your hosts are Naomi and Stephen Schmidt who own and manage Eldee Station with help from their two teenage children, William and Matthew. Besides sheep and cattle, Naomi and Stephen have successfully managed their tourism business and were acknowledged through the NSW Inland Tourism Awards 2005, as the winners of the Hosted Accommodation Category and finalists in the same category in 2007. In early 2010, Eldee Station won the station stay category in the Broken Hill Tourism Awards. There are many packages choose from that include hosted meals and accommodation ranging from 4 and 1/2 star equivalent suites, the Green Family Unit located in the original shearer's quarters and budget accommodation that includes bunk beds and shared bathroom facilities. Some of the best Camping and caravan sites on the Mundi Mundi Plains are also available. Eldee Station also offers a range of activies that includes great tag a long 4WD tours and water run tag a long tours with many photo opportunites, shearing displays for large groups, guided tours and visitors are also free to take self guided bike rides and bushwalks. One of our specialities is catering for large educational groups specifically in the areas of Australian heritage and geology. We have many of the resources needed for training and educating school and university students at our fingertips. We have the right mix of of accommodation facilities and catering services to suit different ages and academic needs. Our clients include Monash, Melbourne and the Australian National Universities. Eldee can be accessed by road and by our airstrip. We are about a 1/2 hour drive from Broken Hill by roads that are suitable for 2WD and 4WD vehicles. Our dirt air strip is 900 metres in length just north of the Eldee Homestead. Fly-ins are welcome and there are no landing fees. The airstrip is located at 31.40'10.00S, 141.15'34.75E. The elevation is 191m above sea level.
