Mundi Mundi Head Station and Water Run Tag along tour leaves the Cafe at 10.00am every Sunday. There will be a lead vehicle from Eldee Station. This tag a long tour requires all participants to drive their own registered 4WD and follow the tour guide's vehicle at all times. All interested pre booked parties will meet at Eldee Cafe located at the Eldee Homestead. The group of 4WD's will travel around the water run on Eldee both on the Mundi Mundi Plains and into the Barrier ranges.
There will be many photographic opportunities because of the varied landscape and wildlife, fantastic views from on top of the Barrier Ranges and the Mundi Mundi Head Station ruins. Mundi Mundi was the first station set up by the Whittings by the late 1850's. Learn about the Whittings, the first European settlers on the Barrier Ranges. This homestead is where the first European female was born on the Barrier Ranges.
The tour will take about 2 1/2 hours and you need a 4WD to travel along sandy creek beds and the rugged Barrier Ranges on Eldee.
We invite our overnight visitors to go on tag along tours and our water run tag along is available most days. At other times our stock work is seasonal and includes mustering our cattle and sheep, maintaining pumps, pipelines and windmills, fences, and many other general animal husbandry activities needed to manage a grazing property.
