Simon Christie’s 4wd TV ProTips
We are very excited to announce that Simon Christie’s 4wd TV ProTips will commence this Sunday on TV4ME at 3.30pm with a repeat on Tuesday evenings at 8pm. We have finished the first 5 episodes and have 5 more in production as well as plans to continue the program.
Again we are very excited about this opportunity and the support we have already received to get the new show up and running.
Most people now know about TV4ME (free to air digital 74) and this is an excellent mainstream opportunity to get 4wdriving and the great outdoors to a wider audience as well as extending and strengthening our current brands.
For those who aren’t sure, this new half hour program is all about promoting, reviewing and testing 4x4 related products. We will be covering all 4x4 accessories, tents, campers, camp gear, vehicles and more.
- ELDEE STATION –
2011 NSW Tourism Awards
The Quintessential Rural Experience
November 18, 2011
Naomi and Stephen Schmidt of Eldee Station did not expect to place in the 2011 NSW Tourism Awards for hosted accommodation which were recently held in Sydney.
“We were competing with businesses that provide packages that include a personal chef and river and beach front views,” Naomi said.
Both the Gold and Silver Awards went to businesses situated in high population areas and based in the Sydney greater metropolitan region and NSW South Coast.
“We are very excited to have achieved the bronze. We were up against hosted accommodation businesses situated in densely populated areas and who have access to the very popular short-break market,” Naomi said.
While water views and award-winning chefs may provide an edge in the city, Eldee Station has the advantage of being only one of three stations on Mundi Mundi Plains, with 360o views that stretch for eternity and being the first tourism operation of its kind to be established in Far West NSW.
The Station plays a pivotal role in the Hollywood in the Outback branding for the region, and includes movie and television credits such as Alice To Nowhere, The Golden Soak and Minder and is home to some of the world’s most exciting 4WD adventure events and often the stepping off-point for local adventure tour operators and emergency service search operations.
Hailing from one of Australia’s true pioneering families, the Schmidt family has been in the region since the late 1880s. A fourth generation working cattle and sheep station, visitors experience the day-today life of a working Australian property as well as the quintessential beauty offered by the Mundi Mundi Plains and Barrier Ranges.
“Managing such a unique area of Australia, combined with the opportunities to share it with visitors, is a 24-hour a day, 365 day-a-year commitment,” Stephen said.
The property itself is internationally recognised for its botanic and geological significance attracting visitors from across the globe for discoveries that date back more than 1.7 million years.
“We are committed to the ongoing sustainability of our sheep and cattle station but tourism provides us with the opportunity to reduce the pressure on our paddocks created through grazing. Farm stays and adventure tourism provide visitors with a true Australian experience and promotes one-one-one relationships that are the foundation for the excellent reputation Australia and Silverton has as a tourism has a destination,” Stephen said.
“It is always a wonderful experience to be recognised by your peers for providing an excellent experience for visitors on an Australian and international scale,” Naomi said.
“We continually strive to provide high quality experiences for our visitors and this award demonstrates that hard work, innovation and commitment play an important role it that visitor experience,” Naomi said.
