Welcome to Eldee Discover the real Australian outback with a touch of luxury at Eldee Station. Eldee Station boasts great outback hosptitality and is a family owned working sheep and cattle station, managed by Stephen and Naomi Schmidt and their two teenage children, William and Matthew. Eldee is located in outback New South Wales, just 30 minutes from Broken Hill and is the quintessential outback experience. We are able to provide a range of accommodation options for singles right through to large groups. We also have shearing demonstrations and tours available which need to booked in advanced. We invite our visitors to sample the many delights of the Australian outback in ways you never thought or imagined were possible giving you a lifetime of memories. Eldee is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the wide open spaces and enjoy the freedom of being outdoors. We take great delight in sharing the rich heritage and history of the Schmidt family and the Australian outback over delicious home cooked meals and especially our three course dinner every evening. Our stock work is seasonal and includes using motorbikes to muster our cattle and sheep, maintaining pumps, pipelines and windmills, fences, and many other general animal husbandry activities needed to manage a grazing property. One of our specialiites is catering for educational groups and some of our clients include Monash, Melbourne and the Australian National Unversities. We have the right mix of accommodation and catering facilities to suit different ages and academic needs. We have many areas of interest that include geology, geomorphology, natural history, European and Aboriginal heritage and history, and archeology. We also welcome flyins as we have no landing fees at Eldee Station on our dirt airstrip just to the north of homestead. Details given below. Besides sheep and cattle, Naomi and Stephen have successfully managed their tourism business and were acknowledged through the NSW Inland Tourism Awards 2005, as the winners of the Hosted Accommodation Category and finalists in the same category in 2007.
